Found hard to navigate site, was only on it a few days, then for no good reason they dropped me No place to call for help, just kept going in circles! Tried to reset a dozen times, no luck. I didn't use any vulgar language, sexual things, pool of fish dating website, nothing I said that was prohibited in their rules that would get me kicked off.
I am going to go places where I may meet a nice person in my age bracket such as a senior center, church, ask everyone I meet if they know someone who might like to start a relationship. Don't want a bar-hog, hear that grocery stores are a good place but these damned computer web-sites are a total waste of time. This site should have their license revoked.
They are a scam. They pressure you into buying an upgraded account and as soon as you do, miraculously you start getting SEVERAL responses from women and even a couple of hours of conversation with them.
During this phase it tells you that your profile is on fire. After the couple of hours are over, no more communication and the profile pics change.
COM and that's where I'm going back. POF seems to have very strange priorities. Yet, they don't seem to have good control over their own coding and settings. Despite a setting saying I only want to be contacted by local people, I keep getting messages from people in other parts of the country. Unless I slept through a bunch of earthquakes, Florida and California definitely aren't within the 75 mile limit on my contact filters.
Clearly, they don't have their act together. E for effort, though When you sign up for the free version, you will be barraged with emails informing you that this one and that one wants to meet you, viewed your profile, faved you, etc.
They will tell you a user's specific name as well But then, to see who the people are that faved, want to meet, viewed ya, etc, POF will tell you that it is required to buy a membership. I ain't losing my mind, I bought a membership and then suddenly, there were no one viewed me, no who wants to meet me people, pool of fish dating website, no one faved me, etc.
So the bottom line: POF sends fake emails to make you think people are already interested, etc, just so that you will buy a membership. After buying a membership and realizing that all the emails from POF had links which when clicked on lead to nothing, I emailed and asked for a refund. They did not ask me why or if anything was wrong. They promptly refunded me.
My messages to them for technical support or an understanding of the site were not answered at all. I've had much better luck on Eharmony and that's where I'm going back. For more information about reviews on ConsumerAffairs. I like the layout of the website. It looked smooth and I was able to navigate it easily.
I like the variety of people and the overall ease of it. I like the name and it has plenty of fish. The people was honest. I also liked the members and everyone was very friendly except a few bad eggs lol. Criteria was also lacking. Some of the women are rude. POF is very particular in question and very easy to customize. Finds very specific matches. The questions are in depth and meaningful when it comes to find someone you are compatible with. I usually have common matches on this site more than other platforms.
Every user seems to be legit. Most dating sites have mostly fake users. I enjoy the way POF is currently set up. But for some the name including fish is offputting. I wish I knew how they matched. It was hard to find women who are my type. I dont think the chemistry test was true to who I was. The profile customization is good, could be better. While POF is ok, I like being able to block unwanted people. I also like that I could put what my personality is. I like being able to list my interest.
Though these could be dealt with better. Other things I like are based on people using the app and less about the app itself. All in all, the site looks easy to use. All I saw was pic's of weed instead of photos. And all there is, is criminals like ex-cons on that site.
I know personally that there are a lot of ex-cons cause when I would talk on the phone each guy would say he just got out of jail. I meet a guy that only had old pictures of himself on his profile. When I went to meet him he looked like he was way older than those pictures. I told him I wouldn't date him and I left. I am just going to try other dating sites. My experience with POF. Seems to me like it is more for people to hook up or for sexual experiences.
I would like dating sites that filter out sexual content because thats just not what Im looking for when Im looking for a date with someone. I did not want to give it another go. It wasnt that great of an experience mass effect dating sim me as a person.
It was just a bad site all around. Definitely will not give it another go in this lifetime. There was nothing wrong with POF. If I wanted a sugar daddy, then I would go to a sugar daddy website. All in all, none of the men peaked my interest, so it was a total waste of time for me.
I don't think I'll be doing that again. My overall experience with POF has been completely terrible, most guys just want to hook up, and even when I find someone who can possibly be my good match, he completely ghosts me. I also dislike how when you send a message, it completely exits you out, and most of the time you wont even get a notification.
Lastly, I dislike the errors they have or when the site messes up, they really need to fix their things. Even so, I like that there are good looking guys I get to stare at, the swipe feature is pretty unique in its own way as well. Being able to choose who you would like to meet and who you'd like to steer 50, yards away from is something to pull the drive in this kind of site. I also like being able to put up as many photos as I want, as I can share my overall growth on this site.
POF was an interesting dating site that I used since it really narrows down the choices of people and I like that some of them find people that you have things in common with. It makes it easier to have conversations or at the very least conversation starters.
Also I like that you can see so much information about somebody and review them before you send them a message. But I don't like that some people can be absolutely profane and horrible but not be punished or have their accounts removed. I also hate the feature that lets random members send pictures of themselves to you since they send really perverse, disgusting pictures and then I end up banning people in less than 48 hours.
This site was not worth my money, so many women were scam artists, met one who begged for pictures, then complained! I was completely pool of fish dating website Found out she was from Philippines!
She was desperate to get married but I didn't want her, too scary, Guys, not worth the time, all they want is pictures and play games! All the women want is to pull up your pants! I love the diversity in people on the site, how friendly everyone is, how easy to use, etc.
I do enjoy how the site itself is set up. I love the customization the site allows on profiles.
Plenty Of Fish is one of the world's largest free online dating services, and is also one of the most popular social communities in the world by number of visitors.
It has its strongest following in Canada and the U. S, but is growing in the UK and other parts of Europe. POF claims 30 million registered users worldwide with about , logged in at any given time. Plentyoffish POF may have lost a few people to newer rivals such as Tinder but it's still big by any standards.
Estimates of the number of users active on there not just registered is likely to be around 7. This still makes it one of the most popular dating communities in the world. PoF highlights being a free site; however their lack of funds does mean navigating around extra advertisements for other dating services. They offer a full array of options including free messaging for the non-paying customer, with a few extra perks like being on the front page for those willing to pay.
Regularly on editor's top pick lists, those at Dating Site Reviews have awarded the site a badge of honor since "". In their latest review they say "Don't let the nonexistent price tag fool you - PoF is a fully functional site with every feature you would expect from a dating site plus a few fun bonuses. In short, PoF strives to provide all or at least most of the features you'd find on pay sites, without the price tag.
PlentyofFish has increased their security early in due to several hacker attacks. This means the sign up process is a bit of a pain. They require you to choose a password that is so complicated that you're bound to forget it. Also, pray that they don't think your IP is from one of the countries they have banned. It took my borrowing a friend's computer to get signed up because for some reason PlentyofFish was convinced I was located in a banned African country 3, miles away from my current location.
Once you do manage to get signed up expect to spend a fair amount of time filling out forms ranging from basic profile questions to a chemistry test. In addition, the site requires new joiners to upload a face photo or risk being banned. This might not be the best for those of us that are shy, but they do have an option to make pictures private.
So you've somehow managed to duck security, get in, and not get banned for forgetting a part of your profile. You will find that PlentyofFish is a self-policing community for the most part. That means if a person has been reported for asking for sex then everyone on the site can block them simply by clicking the button that says to block those that have been reported. It also means that anyone with pictures of their private regions will be banned from the site.
At this point, you're likely either feeling really safe or like the place is run by an overzealous prison guard, or a bit of both. The main way to meet and contact people is through their profiles, or if you would rather get your toes wet before jumping in and accidentally telling some stranger you love them, then the active forums are for you. The crowd is for the most part friendly, honest, open, and talkative.
It might be an effective way of meeting people without the pressure if you don't mind getting caught in the distance relationship trap, as it's unlikely that you will find a significant amount of people in the forums from your location.
Things like hobbies, interests, and political affiliation are blatantly missing from the list. The inbox is pretty self explanatory, although it does have an extensive list of options for the types of people you would like to ban from contacting you.
You are allowed to send and receive in-site emails with a free account. The site will log you out a lot for inactivity so always save a copy of any long thought out messages before hitting the send button. If you have a temporary lapse of brain activity there is a convenient list of date ideas zoo, comedy show, etc right next to the send button to help you get to that first date.
The sites allows members to instant message each other as well as send virtual gifts, although the gifts cost points that mainly only paid members will have enough of. Interestingly thanks to the chemistry test you can also choose people based on if they are family centric, easy going, have self confidence, or if they are dependent on others emotionally. The site shows a list of your potential matches based on the chemistry test. However, it doesn't show exactly what personality points you might be matched on.
You can click on the overview of your potential matches chemistry results, but they're a long read and more like personality survey results rather than the point by point matchup of sites like Match.
Find users who want to go on a date this upcoming Friday night within a certain amount of miles sadly no one in my area has used this feature. Users most likely to respond list: This is just what it says. It's a list of users near you that actually tend to respond to messages sent to them.
Always useful for keeping a list of those profiles you'd like to go back to. Random pictures pop up paid ones first of potential matches in your area. Paid members get highlighted more in searches, can send unlimited virtual gifts, can see if their messages were read or deleted, and use themes in their profiles.
You can use the site as a free member without much hassle. The perks of paid membership are just that, perks, not necessities. PlentyofFish is a genuine, if a bit knocked around and defensive, site full of real people. It doesn't have that feeling of being packed with model photos and false profiles like a lot of others. However, it also doesn't have the depth of profiles that commercial sites such as Match.
It's a good way to meet people, but it might take sorting through a lot of fish to find your soul mate. TomFussy1 December 31st, My5grandkids November 21st, By Type By Country. Overview Ratings Prices Comparison.

Met 2 men so far. My pictures are current and true. Just want someone who isn't out of the United States or claiming to be. I have told POF about all these scammers and all I get in return is asking if I want to take the chemistry test.
I went to another website and they want to pay me to stay on there because I get so much attention. That site no men have pictures or if they do, forget it. It was the over 60 site.
Mate 1 is a horrible site also. I really care about some of these men on POF. One I am not sure if he is scamming or not.
This is heartbreaking to say the least. Andra June 20th, Avoid. I contact pof,,they dont respond in any sense to remove it from Gooogle,,,as long is a deleted account. Have been on the site for a month now and have to say it's the worst I've used.
I don't know how the pictures get by. This place needs more profile review and security measures. Roxy February 28th, Above average. Everybody should first find out more about dating. I am very cute and want to start dating. TomFussy1 December 31st, Above average. It's pretty decent to say it's free But if you can be bothered looking through the profiles and quite polite messaging, you've got a good chance My5grandkids November 21st, Avoid.
